Terms of Service

1. The service

CareerBoost AI provides resume editing, resume analysis, job-description comparison and cover letter drafting tools. By creating an account or using the tools you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it removes your documents with it.

3. What the ATS score means — and does not mean

The compatibility score is a deterministic heuristic computed from the text you supply. It is not produced by, endorsed by, or connected to any applicant tracking system vendor, and it does not predict whether you will be interviewed or hired. It measures observable properties — contact details, section headings, keyword coverage, achievement writing, layout simplicity, length — and publishes how every point is earned. You should treat it as structured feedback, not as a verdict.

4. Advertising

The free product is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Ads appear on public pages only — the resume builder, ATS checker, cover letter generator and your dashboard are ad-free. We do not control which ads are shown and do not endorse the advertised products. How advertising cookies work, and how to limit them, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

5. AI output

• AI features are generated by GroqCloud (Groq, Inc.) models through our server. Output is probabilistic and may be wrong, generic, or awkwardly worded.
• Our prompts instruct the model not to invent employers, dates, credentials, tools or metrics. That reduces fabrication but cannot guarantee it.
• You are responsible for reviewing every draft before you send it. Submitting AI-generated text that misrepresents your experience is your responsibility, not ours.
• AI features may be unavailable — no key configured, provider outage, or a reached usage quota. When that happens the product says so explicitly instead of presenting a simulated result. The ATS score, builder, templates and PDF export do not depend on AI.
• AI usage is rate limited and metered by plan; we do not guarantee a specific volume of AI responses.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not submit other people’s personal data, or resumes that are not your own.
• Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits or authentication.
• Do not use the tools to produce fraudulent applications or to probe for vulnerabilities without consent.
• Do not upload malware, or files you do not have the right to submit.

7. Plans and limits

Usage limits are shown in the product and enforced server-side. The Pro plan is displayed as a product definition but billing is not connected in this build, so it cannot be purchased and no charge will ever be made. If billing is connected later, charges will require an explicit checkout and will be clearly disclosed.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you enter. You grant us the limited licence needed to store your documents, render previews, generate PDFs and — only when you use an AI feature — send the relevant excerpt to the AI provider. We do not sell your content or use it to train models.

9. Availability and changes

The service is provided “as is”. Features may change, break or be withdrawn. We aim for high availability but do not offer an uptime guarantee on this deployment. Always keep a copy of your final resume as a PDF.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost opportunities, lost interviews or lost income, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, especially those used to attack the service or to submit content that is not the user’s own.
